Experience Kratos' journey during the 10 years of servitude to the Gods of Olympus. In God of War: Chains of Olympus, Kratos will venture to lands that no mortal has ever walked upon.
GHOST OF SPARTA: Set in the realm of Greek mythology, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is a single-player game that allows players to take on the powerful role of Spartan warrior Kratos. This new adventure picks up after the first God of War concludes, telling the story of Kratos' ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid himself of the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must embark on a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds, and finally answer long-awaited questions about his dark past. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, he will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes throughout his merciless quest.
The God of War video game franchise is generally considered to be one of the best in the industry. It spans three different PlayStation brand consoles and features some of the most creative action and cinematic moments in gaming.
Lately, though, the franchise has been given extended life through remakes of early games not released on the PlayStation 3. Sony has actually turned the remake idea into a trend.
One of the first was the God of War Collection, which bundled a remastered version of God of War and God of War II.
The latest remastering project is the God of War Origins Collection. With it Sony releases two great PlayStation Portable games for play on the PS3.
Origins is set to release on September 13 for $39.99. It comes with God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta.
Also included are extras in the form of a game directors discussion about the franchise, unlockable items, full 3D support, and challenges to complete.
Reviewing a remake, though, can be a challenge. The games have been released for years and they often don't bring much new content to the table.
